New Zealand Diploma in Business Level 5 (Leadership and Management)

One Year Full-Time

A general business qualification endorsed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, the New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDB) provides excellent grounding in business skills. Students will benefit from applied theory and practice that is relevant to today’s business world.

NZDB Level 5 is highly valued by employers, is a very useful, one- year qualification in general business.

Canterbury College Limited is accredited to provide New Zealand Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) Level 5 by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under section 250 of the Education Act 1989.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Length: 40 study weeks
Total Credits: 120
Papers: 8 in total (2 papers x 4 terms x 10 weeks)

COURSE CONTENT

This course at Level 5 is considered a technical course, equivalent to the first year of a 3 years degree in New Zealand universities. Because it is a course taught in English, it offers extensive business vocabulary. We would also provide intensive study skill course.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

International students must have achieved the following:

  • If over 20 years of age, you will be assessed as to your likely ability to succeed in NZDB Level 5 given any existing qualifications, work experience and motivation to enter the programme; OR
  • If under 20 years of age, the completion of NCEA Level 3 and achieving New Zealand University entrance requirements, or their equivalents.

All students must meet the NZQA Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of achieving either:

IELTS5.5 average with no band less than 5.0
TOEFLScore of no less than 550 (paper test)
PTEPearson Test of English (academic) score of 42
CCETCanterbury College English Test is a NZQA-approved internal test for students from countries with an 80%+ visa success rate
